2008 Points System
Overview
The points program will be broken up into two points divisions. The division winners in each class will race the winner of the other division winner in their class to determine 1st and 2nd place for the year. The division runner-up in each class will race the runner-up of the other division in their class to determine 3rd and 4th place for the year.
- Division 1 points will feature 7 points races running from May 25th through July 6th.
- Division 2 points will feature 7 points races running from July 20th through September 7th.
- The points runoff will take place on Saturday, September 27th.
- In case of a rainout the following weekend will be a double points race.
Rules
- $40 entry fee to join the points program for the year.
- Classes eligible for the points are: Super Pro, Pro, Street, and Nostalgic.
- Any points earned will go to the car and class that you signed up in.
- You only have to pay once but you must inform the office that you are signing up for each division.
- The division winners in each class will runoff against the other division winner in their class to determine first and second place.
- The division runner-ups in each class will runoff against the other division runner-ups in their class to determine third and fourth place.
- You are permitted to change cars one time in each division
- After changing cars you cannot bring back the original car
- Points cannot change from one class to another
- 5 points for attendance
- 1 point per completed elimination pass
- 2 bonus points for the class runner-up
- 3 bonus points for the class winner
Year End Awards Per Class
- 1st Place - $500
- 2nd Place - $100
- 3rd Place - $50
- 4th Place - $25
Track Champion
The Track Champion will be determined by the racer who obtains the most points in any one class or division for the year. In case of a tie the winner will be determined by a Dash for Cash runoff. The Track champion will win an additional $250, Magnolia Drag Strip jacket, and represent the track in the Race of Champions at Norwalk.
